Do agents usually let agents from other agencies hold open houses for their listings?

I would like to become more involved in the local market and meet other agents in the area, but it seems as though they are all at odds with each other. Almost everytime I call another agent I don’t get a call back unless I want to show their listing or make an offer. I want to start asking other agents if I can hold open houses for them, but I don’t want to sound weird.

I can see the rejection here. Unless you are a registered sister company or employee of the said Agency, I can see them remaining very guarded indeed.

Take for instance this said Agency said " OK mate we will allow you to show off 3 of our properties this week as we are short staffed", and perhaps you are a sole registered Agency Company, what is stopping you from taking their custom and commissions of sales from them out the back door?

This is why they are so guarded. Perhaps if you declare you would like to take on an apprenticeship or pt/job to learn the ropes as well as sign a contract to declare none of the above i.e. (nicking their sales) would take place, I can foresee allot more Agencies being forthcoming towards you.

    Hope this helps,

    Regards,
