I’m thinking about buying a friend a fire pit. I called the town where she lives and the clerk said they are allowed, but all NYS laws apply, such as distance away from the house. etc.. I looked online and I can’t find any of the codes/laws. Could someone shed a little light on this? Thanks!

contact the local Fire Department. they will know/ have the code. it’s also important to call because some towns will have multiple fire departments where one fire department may allow them and the other may not. (depending on where you live fire departments/districts have the ability to make special rules.)
