I’m planning on going this saturday and was wondering if it was a good idea because I’m in doubt. If anyone here has gone to that school is it worth the money and time? And also is anyon here going to the open house aswell?

My house has been on the market for a year in the Indianapolis area. After the first contract expired, we got a new agent, and she has been great. She had a virtual tour online (before we painted), she had a commercial running 4 times a day, and we have had open houses.

We have painted, put in new carpet, and drastically dropped the price to the point we are going to lose money. We are desperate to get out of here. What more can we do? MLS is 2734306.
I am not working right now, and we are trying to get into something smaller that we can afford on my husband’s salary. We HAVE to sell, or will be forced to foreclose.
We do have roses in the back yard, and nice landscape and hostas in the front.

Penalties to withdraw from Roth IRA for house downpayment?

We want to take advantage of the low rates and good realestate prices but we’re a bit short on a 20% downpayment. I’ve read that you can withdraw Roth IRA up to ,000 for a first time buyer to put down towards the purchase of a home. However, it says that the IRA had to be open for 5 years. If it has been open for less, what are the penalties? Is it better to take a loan out on the 401k instead?
NVmelinNY… Thanks but what is the difference 401k vs Roth? They’re both retirement accounts. Also, I found this: http://www.fool.com/money/allaboutiras/allaboutiras12.htm Which says that it needs to be open for 5 years even if it’s for a house.

mar c, exactly! I’m planning on buying a 2 family which will be rented out eventually.

Anyone else? Really trying to get clarificaiton on the 5 year rule on the Roth. Any experts??

When selling a home….buy owner in this slow market…Is there any other sources to market your house other then just listing in MLS….we have listed our house since about a month, had 3 open houses so far….everyone liked the house but haven’t got any offers yet….at this point we don’t want to hire an agent or broker cause we don’t want to loose money in thier commission cause we are going to loose it in the slow market anyways….we would like to sell it in this year…so kinda in few months……any suggestions?
